How many
estimates am I required to get?
You only need one estimate. People
sometimes have the misperception that multiple estimates are
necessary. State law clearly states that customers are only required
to get one estimate.
Who
decides where I get my vehicle repaired?
You do! You get
to decide where your vehicle is repaired. Be sure to pick a high
quality collision repair facility with the services that will meet
your needs.
Is an
estimate a guaranteed price contract to complete the repair?
An estimate is only a
visible damage repair blueprint. Because of the nature of most auto
body damage, a complete removal of all damaged parts is required to
inspect for any additional broken or damaged parts.
Will Extreme Collision contact my insurance company regarding my claim?
Extreme Collision will handle processing the claim and communicating with the claims office for you. Since we are electronically linked to your insurance company’s computer system we are able to receive your estimate electronically from the claims office. This will allow us to begin repairs on your vehicle, with your consent, as soon as we receive approval.
What
happens if Extreme Collision discovers more damage once the repairs
begin?
The party
responsible for payment is contacted (the insurance company in most
cases) and we follow their procedures to process the additional
damage. If the damage is significant, the customer is contacted.
Will I be charged more for any extra damage that is discovered after repairs begin?
Who do I
pay my deductible to?
The deductible is paid directly to the
collision repair facility.
Will I have to handle this claim with the responsible insurance company?
No, we can take care of this for you. All you will need to do is file a claim with your insurance company or get a claim number from the other persons’ insurance company (depending on who is paying). We will process the whole repair with the insurance company so you don’t have to.
Many factors influence the length of repairs: the amount of damage, any additional damage discovered, if parts are on backorder or delayed in their delivery, returned parts, (to name a few). In general, we will be unable to tell you the exact time and day when the car will be finished but rather will be able to give you a general timeframe. If you need your vehicle by a specific day, let us know and we will work that factor into the schedule.
